With the Israel-Iran war quickly escalating, Iran is finding itself in a dangerous and weakened position. Not only have Israeli air strikes taken out Iranian state, military, and nuclear leadership, including at least 20 Iranian nuclear scientists, but Israel is claiming it controls the skies over Tehran. Such a possibility, that Israel has “carte blanche” over the Iranian capital was unthinkable, in the realm of impossibility, just a short time ago. Now it is reality. And it means, that even as reports emerge that Iran is seeking a ceasefire mediated through Arab states, Israel has no incentive to change course.

Add to this, Israel has destroyed 30% of Iran’s missile launchers, like those used to launch ballistic missiles, while Iran has already launched 370 ballistic missiles since June 13, with an estimated stockpile of 3,000, meaning Iran has exhausted over 12% of its ballistic missile stockpile in just 72 hours.
