as Canada and Mexico prepare their own retaliatory tariffs, prepare their own strategy, it could raise the heat on all three economies. There are many takeaways, many consequences of what's taking place in North America today. Much has already been written by Mr. Geopolitics, on Mr. Geopolitics, but now there are five key takeaways that every stakeholder must think about.

Let's jump right in. The first has to do with diversification and realignment. Canada and Mexico are in two very different positions when it comes to Trump's tariffs. For Canada, It's being forced to diversify away from America. For decades, Canada has walked lockstep with the US economically and geopolitically. Ideas of diversification have been met largely with lip service.

As I’ve mentioned several times, North America is entering a period of redesign.

This comes before tariff stacking, reciprocal tariffs, tariffs on aluminum and steel, tariffs on lumber, action against digital taxes…

and all this before trump tariffs on eu, japan, south Korea, etc

What about China, 20% tariff now?
