For decades, companies have prodded governments to open up larger and larger swaths of the global economy. Trade barriers? Bring them down. Globalization? Accelerate it. Economic integration? Just do it. The central philosophy of most large companies, especially in the West, has been to encourage and convince the state (their own and others) to advance business interests. These business interests were all about economic liberalization and development.

Within this, businesses have steered away from politics, including geopolitics. Getting involved in national affairs or the world stage often put key goals and operations in jeopardy.

(β€œReverse Geopolitics” is a concept/expression of Abishur Prakash/The Geopolitical Business, Inc)
