For several years, a series of geopolitical challenges have been snowballing, shaking Europe’s foundations.

The outbreak of the Ukraine war is by far the biggest. But it is not alone. The US-China fight, the resurgence of nationalism, chaos in the Middle East, and a climate rethink have contributed to the disarray plaguing European capitals today.

The face of geopolitics is everywhere across the European landscape, from national elections to energy security. Now, however, a shift is occurring. There is now clarity not only on what is happening but also on where geopolitics is leading the world.

In the case of Europe, it is resulting in the emergence of “geopolitical disalignment.”

(Geopolitical Disalignment is an expression/concept of Abishur Prakash/The Geopolitical Business, Inc)

This is a structural change in the region, one that every global stakeholder must acutely understand. The old lens must be removed as geopolitical disalignment begins to redefine Europe.
