The infamous TikTok is once again in the spotlight.
Earlier this year, in April, after passing both chambers of US Congress, President Biden signed the “divest or ban” bill, referred to as the “Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Application Act,” starting the clock for TikTok to sell its US operations or face a nationwide ban.
Washington’s move against TikTok jolted an already shaky US-China relationship. And, China quickly made it clear that America would not get what it wanted.
